Congratulations to Debbi Tally for receiving the Jefferson Award/Metal!

Since being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 1959, it has been Deborah Tally’s mission to not allow the disease to control her life.  While succeeding in this personal battle, she has gone on to serve as an advocate and role model to others inflicted with this disease.  Since 1995, Debbi has organized an annual diabetes health fair in her hometown, Bath, NY, that focuses on screening, education and providing nutritional counseling, free of charge, to the residents of Steuben County.  Since that time more than a thousand individuals have attended the fair and many have benefited from the opportunity to be tested.  In addition, Debbi formed and continues to lead Diabetes support groups in Steuben County, selflessly sharing her time, energy and resources with those individuals diagnosed as diabetic and to their families as well.  Debbi’s efforts have truly helped save lives and provided much needed support to many in our community.
